Eastern Kentucky's PGA Golf Management is Going Gold

The PGA Golf Management Program would like to do our part to help raise awareness for pediatric cancer. As an organization, we have been involved with community service at the local level. We continue to teach the game of golf to children with special needs and support Eastern’s Relay for Life.

Alum Inspires New Class of Golf Professionals

Tyler Collet receives Elbert Player of the Year Award

Congratulations to Mr. Tyler Collet, a junior from Cross Lanes, West Virginia, for winning the Professional Golf Management program’s Elbert Award!

This award is given to an outstanding PGM student each year based on a point system. Points are distributed based on how well students play throughout the year at tournaments and games.

Caviness Earns Advanced PGA Certification

Tyler Caviness, Program Coordinator for EKU's PGA Golf Management Program, is among 13 PGA Professionals who have completed the requirements to achieve advanced certification through the PGA Certified Professional Program 2.0 (CPP 2.0), a valuable achievement that is aimed at further enhancing the skillset of PGA Professionals and advancing career opportunities.

EKU PGA/GM Hosts Summer Junior Golf Program

EKU's PGA Golf Management program, in partnership with the University Club at Arlington, recently conducted their 2015 Summer Junior Program at the Colonel Golf and Learning Center. Twenty-five golf juniors, ranging in age from 5 to 16, from the University Club at Arlington participated in the week long program. 

EKU PGM Student Interviews for Sirius XM PGA TOUR Radio

EKU PGA Golf Management student Craig Hicks was one of two PGA interns interviewed on Sirius XM PGA TOUR Radio this past month. Hicks, a junior from Aylett, Va., along with Ryan Adams, a graduate from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, were on Sirius XM PGA TOUR Radio program from 5-7 pm on May 27.

The S.J. Garner Student Excellence Award for 2014-15 would normally be awarded to the most outstanding EKU PGA Golf Management junior or senior. Because of the caliber of this year's students, it was an impossible task to pick just one.

PGA/Golf Management Alums return for Senior Seminar

On April 17, 2015, the PGA/Golf Management Suite was visited by three professionals that know it very well.

Alumni Matt Frey, Corey Stith, and Logan Duderstadt returned to EKU to give perspective to upcoming graduates on what it takes to make it in their chosen field after graduation.
