Alumni Alert! Tyler Collet to Play in PGA Championship
Tyler Collet, a 2017 EKU graduate, has qualified for his second PGA Championship in a row. Tyler, a native of Cross Lanes, WV., was an outstanding player and student in the program winning PGM Player of the Year 3 out of the 4 years he was eligible. Tyler was a great student and an even better golf professional. Currently, he is an Assistant Golf Professional at John's Island Club in Vero Beach, FL.
The PGA Championship is one of the men's major events in professional golf. Majors are meant to bring together the most talented and best players in the world 4 times a year. The special thing about this major is Class A PGA Professionals across the U.S. have the opportunity to qualify to represent their club and play in one of the largest golf tournaments all year. He qualified by placing T11 (282) at the PGA Professionals Championship played at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa which had 20 spots available for the second major of the year.
We are excited to see him compete and will be rooting for him in this year's PGA Championship.
