Brock Wicker Selected PGA Assistant Golf Professional of the Year
On Monday, February 8th, an EKU alum will be recognized in front of his peers as the 2016 Indiana Section PGA Assistant Golf Professional of the Year.
Congratulations to Mr. Brock Wicker, an EKU 2011 graduate from Elizabethtown, Kentucky. He will receive the award in Muncie, Indiana. The award is given to those that have shown outstanding service to the region. “We are proud of Brock for this great accomplishment and we appreciate all of his hard work and dedication for the past two seasons here at Meridian Hills Country Club,” stated the staff of Meridian Hills.
Wicker was more than happy to share the news with his former EKU PGA Professional Golf Management program. “I want to personally thank all of you for helping me achieve this great honor.” Wicker had kind words for all of the staff of the program, mentioning his many fond memories of the program and the people he met while here. The hours the staff put in to make the program great, the feeling of family amongst the participants in the program, and the experience he gained through internships that led him to work for Meridian Hills all guided him to win this award and further his career.
According to Tyler Caviness, EKU PGM Program Coordinator, "Brock graduated in the fall of 2011, our second graduating class. This is a tremendous honor for a young golf professional and we are extremely proud of Brock."
EKU’s PGA accredited Professional Golf Management program will travel to the 2016 PGA Merchandise Show in late January 2016. Wicker hopes to meet his former instructors and current students at the show.
