EKU Jones Cup Team Selected
Competitors for the 2011 Professional Golfers Association Jones Cup tournament have been selected from the Eastern Kentucky University PGA Golf Management Program.
Logan Duderstadt (junior, West Chester, Oh.), Sean O’Daniel (senior, Burlington, Ky.), Brett Roberts (senior, Dawson Springs, Ky.), Trey Scott (senior, Paris, Ky.), and Hank Whalen (senior, Cynthiana, Ky.) will travel to Port St. Lucie, Fl., November 7-9, to complete against the eighteen other PGA Golf Management schools in a two day competition.
EKU team selection is based not only on performance in PGM Tour events, but also on the students' academic achievement. EKU's PGA Golf Management program was founded in 2005 and teams have competed in the event since 2007.
The PGA Jones Cup is an event named after the first Director of the PGA Golf Management Program at Mississippi State, Dr. S. Roland Jones. This 36-hole event is the National Championship of all nineteen PGA Golf Management Programs.
Eastern Kentucky University's PGA Golf Management program is an option within the College of Business and Technology's Department of Management, Marketing and Administrative Communication. The College's School of Business is accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). Graduates of EKU's PGA Golf Management program earn a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Marketing and the PGM option. Students receive a comprehensive business education that prepares them for responsible positions in the golf industry.
